Where It All Started: The Context Behind Our Solution
Tempo Labs is an AI-powered product development platform that combines a visual editor with a React IDE, bridging design and code to streamline collaboration between startup founders, designers, and engineers.
As UX designers, we aim to improve transparency, reliability, and collaboration within the product development workflow by refining how users brainstorm, plan, execute, and track product changes with AI. In doing so, our goal is to empower startup founders in taking on the role of a design manager, enabling them to rapidly transform ideas into MVPs without getting stuck in cycles of rework and indecision. Getting here wasn’t a straight shot—we pivoted, adapted, and refined until the pieces finally clicked!
PROBLEM
Users: Early-stage startup founders often experience a disorganized and inefficient product development process, where progress feels unpredictable and difficult to manage.
Staring at a blank canvas, startup founders often struggle with uncertainty—where to begin, what features to prioritize, and how to bring their vision to life. Without a clear direction from concept to execution, they fall into an endless cycle of reworking and fine-tuning without making tangible progress. This lack of structure and efficiency drains time and focus, making it harder to ship products on time to stay competitive and drive innovation.

AI instantly produces both a primary PRD and feature-specific PRDs, updating live as the process unfolds.
Users can manually edit PRDs in a familiar, text-based interface—just like working in Notion or Word.
Project Dashboard for PRD Management
A structured project dashboard stores the primary PRD and all feature-specific PRDs in one place for easy access.
Users can manually add, edit, or remove PRDs as their project evolves, ensuring everything stays up to date.
AI Task Breakdown from Feature-Specific PRD
AI breaks down complex feature-specific PRDs into clear, actionable tasks.
Approve with a click, and tasks are instantly organized into the team’s sprint board, ready for execution.
Collaborative Sprint Board with AI Task Execution
Tasks are displayed as interactive tickets on the sprint board, allowing users to assign collaborators, set priorities, and generate subtasks.
AI can directly execute tickets within the Tempo Editor, and updates their status on the sprint board in real time.
