About Me

Hi, I’m Kellie—a psychology graduate turned UX designer with a passion for solving real-world problems through empathy, creativity, and precision.
Currently, I’m pursuing a Master of Information at the University of Toronto, specializing in UX Design. Before transitioning to UX, I earned my BA in Psychology, where I explored how people think and feel and how those experiences shape their actions. During my undergrad, I worked as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab, investigating the cognitive mechanisms underlying depressive symptoms in humans using rat models, and on a qualitative project exploring mental health challenges faced by nonbinary individuals.
I’ve always been drawn to work that helps people and illuminate paths toward better lives. In psychology, I focused on understanding problems and the people behind them. But in UX, I saw the chance to take that understanding further, to actively create solutions and make an impact that’s more immediate and far-reaching. Since making the leap, I’ve landed several internships where my research background opened doors, and along the way, I’ve been fortunate to pick up visual design and build proficiency in industry-standard UI practices.
Outside of work and study, you’ll find me watching anime and sketching away on my latest illustration. On more active days, I love growing mushrooms and getting a little too experimental in the kitchen. Fun fact: burnt napa cabbage smells suspiciously like Cantonese turnip cake—one of many discoveries that prove my creativity knows no bounds (or recipes).
But let’s talk about something I don’t burn—when it comes to my work and goals, I’m here to keep growing, embracing fresh challenges, and connecting ideas, people, and possibilities in ways that create lasting values. Let’s build something meaningful together!
